The Night Creates is a one off series of night time events curated especially for this year’s Culture Night/Culture Night Late Programme. Supported by the Night Time Economy pilot and Creative Ireland, it showcases and highlights the year-round commitment from Kilkenny County Council to support artists, creatives and businesses that contribute to a thriving social, cultural and economic environment across the city and county.
The evening begins with Creative Conversations, an exciting panel discussion with contributors who have built successful careers in Kilkenny and beyond, merging artistic talent with smart business strategies. The panel will be chaired by Eamonn Maxwell, contemporary art curator and art advisor. Panellists will be Mary Butler, Kilkenny County Council Arts Officer, Gus Mabelson, ceramicist, educator and member of Made in Kilkenny and Martin Bridgeman, broadcaster with KCLR and musician.
This is followed the prodigious talents of Seafall, a product of the Kilkenny Arts Office In Bloom programme. They are a talented group of friends with an eclectic taste in music banded together to create a unique sound.
Now featuring as a regular fixture at Rothe House during the Six after Six tourism initiative, Anthony McAuley and Friends will deliver a memorable traditional music session for Culture Night enthusiasts.
Completing our line-up is the ever-popular Kilkenny Comedy Club who will bring you the very best in local and national comedy talent.
