Embroidery is making a return to Rothe House and Garden!
After bidding farewell to a panel of the famed Ros Tapestry earlier this year – which had been embroidered in Rothe House over a 10-year period – we are now delighted to welcome this community embroidery project.
Run by Kilkenny Arts Office, the embroidery table is part of their overall Waste Not, Want Not programme.
The Arts Office says, “Community arts projects such as this play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life in communities, fostering a sense of belonging and creativity, and promoting positive social change.”
This particular project will involve collaboration with local communities and individuals, while also encouraging cultural exchange and understanding.
Throughout May and June, 24 drop-in embroidery sessions will take place here at Rothe House.
And, whether you’re a complete novice or a seasoned professional, all are welcome!
