What to expect?
Explore our three houses with their three courtyards and the 0.5ac garden in the back. We offer guided tours four times a day, but you can go on a self-guided tour any time you want. We also offer a scavenger hunt for children.
At the moment, we can only offer outdoor guided tours due to COVID19 restrictions. They are on at 10:30, 12:00, 14:30 and 16:00 and last for about 30 mins. You are free to explore the indoor areas by yourself afterwards.
You can take a self-guided tour any time you want during our opening hours.
Concession €6.50 (OAP and ESOL students/RHS, active retirement, ICA, second level over 16 y/o etc.) ESOL and student tutors in company of their paying students go free!
Children under 16 go free (must be accompanied by an adult)
Members of Kilkenny Archaeological Society can visit the houses and garden for free. Follow this link to join.

Parliament Street, Kilkenny. On Ireland’s Medieval Mile between St. Canice’s Cathedral and Kilkenny Castle – just five minutes’ walk from each and right across the street from the Smithwick’s Experience.
We’re located between the City bus stops Parliament Street (KK1, KK2) and Market Yard (KK1, KK2, 838).
The nearest car parking facilities are Market Cross Car Park and Dunnes Car Park (see map).
Our courtyards and gardens are disability friendly, i.e. the garden is wheelchair accessible via a lift, but the historic cobblestones in the courtyard and many staircases within the houses could be challenging. Please call us in advance on 056-7722893 to make arrangements.
There are braille panels on the garden walls.
