Festive Wreath Workshops
First up, we have our Festive Wreath-making Workshops on December 2nd.
There’s nothing quite like the eye-catching sight of a seasonal wreath on your door, with the scent of freshly clipped greens to welcome guests to your home.
If you’ve ever wondered how to make your own unique piece, then look no further.
It only takes a little creativity to create a masterpiece – we’re certain that once you have tried it, wreath-making will become a beloved seasonal tradition.
Under the expert guidance of our team, create your own one-of-a-kind wreath this Christmas with a straightforward, step-by step workshop.
Workshop includes:
- All materials including wreath base (participants can bring their own personal decorative items if they wish)
- Guidance and advice in a fun and relaxed setting.
- A few hours of mindful crafting, away from the hustle and bustle of Christmas preparations!
Please bring your own scissors and secateurs so you can work on your creation.

Christmas Miscellany at Rothe House
Next up, on Tuesday the 12th of December, back by popular demand we have our Christmas Miscellany!
Featuring a range of well-known and emerging writers, musicians, poets and singers from Kilkenny, this is an evening not to be missed.
The evening will begin with a warming reception of mulled wine and seasonal sweet treats to get you in the festive spirit, before moving to the atmospheric surrounds of the Phelan Room, what used to be the Great Hall of the Rothe family. There you can step back in time and enjoy stories new and old, accompanied by music and song from some new and familiar faces.
A magical evening, not to be missed!

Children’s Christmas Workshop
In case you thought we were forgetting about the youngsters, fear not!
On Saturday, December 16th, we will have a special Children’s Christmas Storytelling and Craft Workshop.
Our storytellers will share tales of Christmases past and present, filling children with the spirit of Christmas. The workshop will be filled with laughter, creativity, and lots of fun.
Children will have the opportunity to create beautiful crafts that celebrate the spirit of Christmas. From decorating ornaments to making personalized cards, our craft activities will inspire their creativity and bring out their inner artist.
Our friendly staff will ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
Children can enjoy a delicious hot chocolate and festive treat.
Don’t miss out on this exciting event!
Suitable for children aged 6-12 years.
Please note: Guardians are not required to stay at this event. Please make sure your child is happy to be left on their own in a new environment for the duration of the workshop.
