Fancy a bit of tour guiding experience?  Do you feel you can stand up in front of a group of people and talk for 40 minutes? Read on ….

The House will be partially closed while the Renaissance Project is completed, and it is planned to introduce a guiding system to enhance the visitor experience during this period.

 The positions are voluntary, and a commitment of at least 2-3 hours per week is required. Full training will be provided, and the positions will be from June to end September.

This is an opportunity to participate in one of the most exciting heritage projects happening in Kilkenny at present.

Rothe House & Garden is owned by Kilkenny Archaeological Society and operated by Rothe House Trust Limited (both not for profit organisations).It is open to the public as a museum, garden, book & gift shop and genealogical centre. 

All successful volunteers will receive free family entry (for the first 6 months) to the new exhibition which is being installed during the summer, and will open to the public later this year.  They will also receive a copy of the latest Kilkenny Archaeological Society Journal, the Old Kilkenny Review.
