Rothe House is the Family History Centre for Kilkenny city and county. In addition to possessing a detailed computerised genealogical database at Rothe House, we also employ a genealogist who will assist you in researching your family tree, tracing your ancestors from Kilkenny city and county.
Researching Your Family
If you are trying to determine the path of family members, where they worked or lived, who they married and more, then why not call into Rothe House directly or contact us filling out the attached information form HERE and sending it to email@example.com. Our genealogist will be in touch with you on receipt of this form to advise you on the type of information she can provide. We accept all forms of credit card except American Express. You can also pay using the PayPal system below, or by sending a cheque made payable to Rothe House Trust Limited.

We have now introduced regular appointments with our Genealogist on Tuesday afternoons from 2.30 – 4.00 (consultations usually last 20 minutes). These can be booked by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org or telephoning +33 56 7722893.

Kilkenny Archaeological Society Library & Archive
The library is open for three sessions weekly as follows:
- Tuesday 2:30pm to 4:30pm
- Wednesday 10:30am to 12:30pm
- Saturday 2:30pm to 4:30pm
The library is available at other times by prior appointment. Non-members of the society are welcome to use the library facility €5 per session.
The library contains a wide collection of Kilkenny newspapers from the 18th to 21st centuries, maps and family archives as well as numerous book relating to the history of Kilkenny.
