Rothe House Trust Ltd, and before it, The Kilkenny Archaeological Society, has operated a Local Training Initiative at Rothe House for nearly 30 years.
Originally the scheme was set up to compile a computer database of all the baptism, deaths and marriages in the Civil Parish Records which now form the basis of the Genealogical Service provided at Rothe House & Gardens.
Beginning in September 2016 we are offering a QQI Level 4 in Tourism Visitor Care with Information Communications Technology Skills and Customer Service. Modules include:
- Tourism Visitor Care
- Information Technology Skills
- Computer Applications
- Customer Service
- Conversational French
- Work Practice
The course is targeted primarily to people 18-35 years of age in receipt of any Social Welfare payment, with no formal qualifications or incomplete secondary level qualifications. Training allowance, travel allowance and meal allowance payable to all eligible students.
