The workshops are themed according to time of year, and include activities such as tile and glass painting, jewellery making, mask making and salt dough modelling.  Children are encouraged to be creative, and can take what they make home with them at the end.  The series of workshops was initiated in 2011, and has proved so successful that we have had to add extra times to the schedule. Whole families return again and again throughout the year.</p>
<p>First up is the St. Valentine&#8217;s Day Workshop, taking place on 11th February.  Cost is €7.50 per child and you can email info@rothehouse.com for more information, or telephone 056 7722893 and ask for Winn or Daphne. </p>

<p>The ceremony was held in the Royal College of Physicians in Kildare Street, Dublin on Wednesday 29th June. The MSPI (Museum Standards Programme of Ireland) is co-ordinated by the Heritage Council, and Rothe House Museum is one of the first volunteer museums to be awarded Interim Accreditation.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Fancy a bit of tour guiding experience?Â  Do you feel you can stand up in front of a group of people and talk for 40 minutes? Read on &#8230;.</p>
<p>The House will be partially closed while the Renaissance Project is completed, and it is planned to introduce a guiding system to enhance the visitor experience during this period.</p>
<p>Â The positions are voluntary, and a commitment of at least 2-3 hours per week is required. Full training will be provided, and the positions will be from June to end September.</p>
<p>This is an opportunity to participate in one of the most exciting heritage projects happening in Kilkenny at present.</p>
<p>Rothe House &amp; Garden is owned by Kilkenny Archaeological Society and operated by Rothe House Trust Limited (both not for profit organisations).It is open to the public as a museum, garden, book &amp; gift shop and genealogical centre.Â </p>
<p>All successful volunteers will receive free family entry (for the first 6 months) to the new exhibition which is being installed during the summer, and will open to the public later this year.Â  They will also receive a copy of the latest Kilkenny Archaeological Society Journal, the Old Kilkenny Review.</p>
