June 19th and 20th will see the famed Shakespeare in the House festival, in the authentic surroundings of our 17th century courtyard.Â Children from the Dreamstuff Youth Theatre in Kilkenny will perform abridged versions of Macbeth (ssssshhhhh!),Â Much Ado about NothingÂ and Taming of the Shrew in the open air.Â Free performances during the afternoon.Â On both evenings, the Advanced Acting Group will perform Twelfth Night, with a BBQ in the garden afterwards.Â Tickets for this will cost â‚¬15.00 and may be purchased at Rothe House, tel: 056 7722893, email firstname.lastname@example.org. A visit to Rothe House is high on the list of things to do in the Marble City. Built between 1594 and 1610 this was the home of the renowned merchant, landowner and Mayor of Kilkenny City, John Rothe Fitz Piers, his wife Rose Archer, and their twelve children.
